The prom 2020 season is fast approaching. If you’ll be attending prom in the upcoming year, it’s never too early to start deciding what style of dress you want. Each year, the prom dress trends change and we can already tell this year is going to be our favourite! There are many new trends for this prom season and so we’ve selected the top 3 to help you pick your perfect dress.

THE CLASSIC BALLGOWN

If wearing a very fitted dress just isn’t you, there’s a trend to suit you too – the ballgown. This classic A-line silhouette is back in for prom. This gorgeous style is sure to make you feel very formal and dressed-up. For this years prom, the ballgown has been given a modern makeover and includes new design features such as floral appliqués, sheer bodices and lace-up backs.

 

 

 RED CARPET STYLES

The red carpet look is all about being bold and showing off your figure. The silhouette is always figure-hugging and with a bodycon fit, often seen with a thigh-high slit, spaghetti straps, and a plunging neckline. The details are usually opulent and glamorous – think sparkling sequins and dazzling bead-work that catches the light. 

 

 

 

METALLIC FABRICS

Metallic prom dresses have been popular for a few seasons now but they’re not going anywhere for 2020. This ultra-modern and highly glamorous look is all about sparkling on the dance floor and standing out from the crowd. Metallic dresses are usually most popular in gold or silver tones but are available in nearly every colour. This years collection introduces dozens of brand new metallic fabrics with all types of shimmer, glitter and sequins. 

 

 PANTONE 2020 COLOURS
